Resources & Education

At Empowered Path Planning, we partner with community groups, charities, estate lawyers, and accountants to support their clients and communities during one of life’s most difficult transitions – navigating finances after a loss. Our goal is to provide compassionate, clear, and practical guidance so people can find stability and make informed decisions during this time. Whether you’re helping a grieving family plan funeral expenses, sort through assets, or adjust to changed income, we’re here to help.

Who do you typically work with?

We specialize in supporting individuals and families who are navigating major life changes – such as the loss of a spouse or partner, retirement transitions, or managing an inheritance. While many of our clients are women in their 60s and 70s, we also work with adult children, couples, and caregivers.

No. Many clients come to us simply looking for clarity and guidance on their financial picture, even before making investment decisions. Whether you have existing accounts, pensions, or just questions about what to do next, we meet you where you are.

Our starting point is the Clarity Plan, a one-time flat fee of $2,500 that covers 25–30 hours of work from our team. For more complex situations – such as business ownership, multiple rental properties, or estate transfers – additional fees may apply. We’ll always be upfront and transparent before any work begins.

The plan includes a full review of your household finances, one or two properties, investment and insurance analysis, pension assessments, estate and beneficiary guidance, and a written step-by-step action plan. It’s designed to give you clarity and confidence in moving forward.

Yes. We often collaborate with other professionals to make sure your financial, legal, and tax planning is fully aligned. We’re happy to coordinate with your trusted advisors – or introduce you to professionals in our network if you need additional support.

Yes. If you’d like ongoing portfolio management, we can provide this service for an additional percentage-based fee (Assets Under Management model). Some clients choose this option, while others simply use us for financial planning – either way, you’re in control of the relationship.

We understand that financial planning isn’t just about numbers – it’s about people, family, and peace of mind. Our process is paced around your comfort, with clear explanations, a compassionate approach, and practical steps you can follow with confidence.

You’ll receive a written plan and action items. Some clients feel empowered to move forward on their own, while others choose to keep working with us for investment management, plan updates, or ongoing support. The choice is always yours.

That’s completely normal. Many of our clients come to us unsure of what to ask or what documents they even need. Part of our role is to simplify the process – starting with a conversation and guiding you step by step, so you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Waiting often adds stress and uncertainty. Even small steps – like understanding your pensions or clarifying your monthly cash flow – can provide peace of mind. Our goal is to help you move forward at your own pace, without pressure, but with the knowledge that you don’t have to carry the weight of unanswered questions.

It begins with a complimentary conversation. We’ll talk about your goals, concerns, and whether the Clarity Plan is the right fit for you. From there, we’ll outline the next steps and share exactly what we’ll need from you to begin.

That’s okay. Some clients prefer to start with a smaller focus – like a pension review or investment check-up – before committing to a full plan. We can adapt our support to meet you where you are today, and expand later if needed.
